What it is
An overnight on the grounds.
Canyon fishing on Marlaina is an overnight on the grounds, not a day ticket on a head boat. From West Ocean City the usual runs are Poor Man's Canyon at about 54 nautical miles, Baltimore Canyon at about 58, Washington Canyon at 58 to 68, and Wilmington or Norfolk Canyon at about 75. By day the cockpit trolls or chunks for yellowfin, bigeye, bluefin, white and blue marlin, mahi, and wahoo. After dark the same water can turn to swordfish or tilefish. The season runs late spring through fall, with the peak from June through October. Ocean City has been called the White Marlin Capital since 1939, and the White Marlin Open is held there in August. This is Mid-Atlantic canyon fishing from a private boat, included with the stay.
On this boat
How it runs.
This is concept staging, not a booking. You take the whole boat. Six guests. A hired, licensed 6-pack captain. Crew sleeps in a closed cabin. Ports are West Ocean City or Cape May.
The run waits on a weather window. You sleep in real cabins and you are on the grounds at first light. Maryland and New Jersey rules apply, depending on the port and the water. Fishing is included with the stay. Themed nights are add-ons, not part of this day. There are no bookable dates yet.
What it is not
Not a head boat. Not a species promise.
This is not a head boat. You do not share the rail with a crowd, and you do not buy a day ticket that happens to sleep people. It is not a species promise. Yellowfin, bigeye, bluefin, marlin, mahi, wahoo, swordfish, and tilefish are the fish of this water. The boat does not guarantee any of them. The night is the product. Fishing comes with it.
